Linda Riley

Linda Riley is a leading British equalities campaigner and proud patron of Action Breaks Silence.

Having spent a lifetime campaigning for women’s rights and on LGBT+ issues, Linda founded both the European Diversity Awards and the Global Diversity List.

Co-founder of diversity events company Square Peg Media, she has also launched a series of high profile national initiatives for women, including Opportunities for Women and the Diversity Careers Show. She has petitioned some of the UK’s biggest employers for increased female representation at senior level, taking her campaign to the House of Commons.

Upon her appointment as Patron, Linda said:
“Action Breaks Silence is an incredibly important charity that not only works to protect women from gender-based violence but also educates young men about the impact of violence on women. It is an issue that often fails to get the publicity it deserves. It is about time that changed. Throughout my career I have fought for women’s rights and I will do that even more through this role. As Patron, I will work hard to push the mission of ABS and violence against women higher up the agenda in the UK.”

I am humbled and honoured to be asked to join the Action Breaks Silence charity. I have accepted because I believe wholeheartedly in their ethos and purpose. It has always been my personal aim to ensure that women are treated equally and fairly and Gender Based Violence is an issue we cannot ignore or tolerate.
