I am  Whitefoord ’s Chief Executive Officer, having founded the firm in 2000. I manage the business on a day-to-day basis with our team of professional managers. I also act as a strategic investment and financial consultant to a number of the firm’s clients. Some of them were clients of my previous consulting actuarial firm nearly 40 years ago. First and foremost, I am a family man.

When my friends were having grandchildren, I was unbelievably fortunate to meet my wife and be blessed with four children in the next five years. I love sport, both playing and watching and my great passion is skiing. I am driven at work and find great joy working with like-minded people and helping my clients.

BAME Specialist and Youth Development

Renee is a passionate and driven campaigner and organiser for youth skills and development. She firmly believes that the best way to create youth leaders, is by letting youth lead. She is the founder of WePoch, a charitable project aimed at tackling elderly isolation and providing online volunteering opportunities for youth. She is also the Head of Partnerships and Development in a London based charity.

Working across a range of projects and campaigns to improve the life chances of disadvantaged and BAME young people. The focus of her career has been within youth, education, employment, safety, enterprise, advocacy and BAME affairs. Skilled in programme facilitation and deployment, project and campaign management, digital marketing and cross-project collaboration.
Samir Patel

Business and Policy

Samir has worked in the financial industry for over 25 years after graduating with a degree in Economics.

His investment career has allowed him to travel extensively in the Emerging Markets, giving him the opportunity to see first-hand the wonderful changes and developments in so many countries over the years.

A father to twin daughters and a husband with a very understanding wife, he is a Freemen of the City of London, enjoys playing sports and reading.

Chartered Accountant

As a South African, Kate is acutely aware of the many challenges facing the country today.  

She wholeheartedly believes in education and empowerment as a means of addressing these issues, and the work being undertaken by ’Action Breaks Silence’ in this area makes her extremely proud to be associated with the charity. 

Kate is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience within blue-chip companies, and has previously been involved in the Thuthuka Program, a series of transformation initiatives related to increasing the number of chartered accountants from disadvantaged backgrounds in South Africa. 

She is also heavily involved in two enterprises; an online health and wellness business which she runs, and her family’s accounting practice. 

She is a mother to three kids (Courtney 5, Luke 10, Aidan 12), two dogs and one long suffering husband.
Martin Bass
Martin Bass
Sales and Business

Martin has worked in various roles and company’s since leaving secondary education at 16 and is now a highly experienced professional with an energetic and self-motivated mind-set. 

Currently working in the software sector in the world's leading supplier of software that optimizes process manufacturing. Martin has also recently launched his own online social marketing business focused on health and well-being. 

He currently lives in Epsom and has two sons Leuan, 21 and Henry, 5.

PR and Social Media

Lana is a former journalist who made the leap into PR 19 years ago.  After an initial stint at a luxury consumer agency, Lana was appointed London press manager for a large multinational property firm. 

She set up her own eponymous PR agency in 2006 where she worked with many of the world’s most reputable luxury resorts, estate agents, lettings agencies, search agents, property developers and interior designers.
 
She continues to work in property focused PR while simultaneously pursuing a full-time PhD in media and communications at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Penny Middleton

Gender and Policy

Penny graduated from university in 1998, and in 2020 achieved a Masters degree in Child and Women Abuse. She left mainstream teaching and has worked with young people in the care system to ensure that their educational needs are met in order for them to have the best opportunities in their life.

Penny has volunteered for youth drop-in centres and was the police lead for a charity working directly with women who are suspected of being trafficked for sexual exploitation in Surrey and Sussex.
 
Penny brings with her an extensive experience of working with women who have been sexually exploited, young people who have experienced abuse and pedagogy to Action Breaks Silence.

Jeannie has extensive experience in strategy, messaging, internal and external communications, PR & media relations, investor relations, crisis and digital.

She has won a range of accolades including Headlinemoney ‘Press Team of the Year’, Women in Investment ‘Social Media Influencer of the Year’, Investment Week Marketing & Innovation ‘CSR Campaign of the Year’ and Investment Week Marketing & Innovation ‘Best Use of Social Media’.

Jeannie graduated with a degree in Government & Economics from Franklin & Marshall, in Pennsylvania, and is an alumni of Oxford University’s Said Business School.
